Whiz Kids Science Program

Whiz Kids Science Program

Dear Parents,

The Whiz Kids Science Program is set up by senior students from Auckland colleges which aims to extend scientific knowledge and stimulate young minds. We believe that an understanding of the scientific world is paramount early on in childhood learning. Thus we encourage a hands-on approach for long-term learning and understanding.

Our program is tailored for children between 8-13 years of age and is in the form of 5 after-school science lessons led by student volunteers which are held after school on a weekly basis. Our lessons will consist of basic biology, chemistry and physics, with each lessons based around an fun experiment which is supplemented by theory, games and worksheets to encourage an interactive style of learning and extend the student’s critical thinking skills. Every lesson will be supervised by a teacher from Howick Primary School to ensure the safety of the students.

Whilst Whiz kids is a non-profitable organisation, we will be charging a small fee of $8 per student to cover the purchasing of materials during the entirety of the programme.
We will be launching our programme at Howick Primary School on Thursday 3rd August (Term 3, Week 2) after school from 3:30-4:30 for 5 consecutive weeks for students from Year 3-6. Please fill in the form below if you are interested in participating in our programme.
 Yours sincerely,
